Short answer: No. Deleting your episodes does not remove your “active” status or kick you out of the Webtoon Canvas Ad Revenue Program.
As long as you were already accepted into Viewer Ads or Reward Ads, your series stays eligible unless you delete the entire series or you manually opt out of the program.
This means you can:
- Delete episodes (as many episodes as you want or need)
- Reboot your series
- Replace all episodes with a new story idea
- Take a long break/hiatus
- Keep the series space but wipe everything
…and you’ll still be part of the Webtoon Canvas ad revenue system. You don’t lose your spot unless you break serious rules or delete the whole series page.

Your Series Stays Eligible, But You Must Still Follow Webtoon Guidelines
Here’s the important part:
You only risk losing eligibility if you repeatedly upload episodes that break Webtoon’s content policies, especially after warnings or rejections.
Some policy areas Webtoon is strict about:
- Sexual content / explicit nudity
- Graphic gore, dismemberment, or shock content
- Hate speech, harassment, discrimination
- Sexualization of minors (instant rejection)
- Copyright violations
- AI-generated art passed off as fully original
- Misleading thumbnails or titles
- Spam / low-quality or blank episodes
If you follow the guidelines, you can delete and reupload as much as you want without losing ad eligibility.
What Happens When You Delete All Episodes?
Once you wipe all episodes, you’ll notice:
- Your Webtoon Canvas Ad Revenue tab turns grey
- Viewer Ads + Reward Ads settings become unavailable
- Your “active” status looks like it disappeared
But don’t panic—this is normal.

Your ad settings reactivate automatically the moment you publish at least one new public episode. Webtoon simply requires an episode to exist before ads can run.
As soon as your series becomes “available to readers” again, everything works like before.
What If You Delete Episodes While You’re Applying for Ads?
This part confuses a lot of creators, so here’s the clear explanation:
If you’re still in the middle of applying for Viewer Ads or Reward Ads and you delete all episodes:
- Your application does not vanish
- It enters a “paused” or “suspended” state
- Webtoon cannot review anything because you have zero content
- Once you publish new episodes, your application resumes normally
But… here’s the downside:
⚠️ It becomes very easy to get rejected this way.
Why?
Because Webtoon needs enough content to check:
- Tone of your series
- Genre consistency
- Whether your content is safe
- If your storytelling meets their guidelines
- If your art is original and not violating copyright
- Whether your content is appropriate for ads
And Webtoon specifically prefers:
✔️ At least 10 episodes before they approve a series.
Creators with fewer episodes often get the “We need more data” rejection, where Webtoon says they can’t determine the series’ compliance yet.
So if you delete everything while applying, expect your chances of approval to drop.
But What If I Was Already Accepted Before Deleting?
If you were already approved for Viewer Ads or Reward Ads, you’re safe.

You can:
- Delete all episodes
- Reboot
- Start a new story within the same series
- Rebrand the whole comic
…and your ad revenue eligibility stays intact.
Just make sure your new episodes also follow Webtoon’s rules.
Final Advice: Play Smart With Deletions
Deleting episodes is totally fine and safe for your ad status as long as:
- You were already approved for the program
- You don’t break Webtoon’s policies
- You upload compliant episodes afterward
If you’re applying for ads right now, try to avoid deleting episodes until after they approve you. It gives you a much better chance.
